August 16th, 2007I know I’m fairly late on this, but congratulations Blue Devils! Awesome show.
I have to say I was fairly disappointed with this year’s shows. It’s not necessarily that the shows were bad, it’s just hard to follow a season of Machine, Godfather: Part Blue, Faust, etc. And the Cadets? How on earth did they get so far with that horrible tacky voiceover constantly ruining some of the best corps music in years?
Anyways, enough on that. What’s done is done. Personally, I’m looking forward to next year - the Cavies‘ 60th Anniversary. DCI 2008 promises some great things.

DCI This Week
July 16th, 2007Hey! We’re headed to DCI San Antonio this weekend, so there may be a few days of no new videos, but we’ll be back in action again next Monday!
If you’re planning on being at the Alamo Dome, I’ll be in seat 7, Row 3, Section 215, and I’d love to have the opportunity to meet some more of our visitors.

PercussionMedia Videos - New and Improved
July 13th, 2007Whether you’re a VicFirth fanatic, an IP crazer, or any other crazy percussionist fanboy, PercussionMedia’s Video Section is the right place for you. We just made several upgrades to our video portal, we encourage you to register and try out several of our new features.
One new feature is the ability to change the thumbnails of a video you’ve uploaded - Our system will pick one for you at first, but you can go into the edit videos section of your control panel and choose a new thumb from the 9 our system generates automagically
We’ve also made several upgrades to our social networking features - improved commenting, more profile customization, and more. It’ll be the MySpace of Percussion.
Last but not least, if you haven’t heard, we just finished developing our percussion toolbar, a first for the industry. It’s got some great features, and it really makes it easy to stay up to date on DCI, WGI, Percussion news and the like.
This was probably the worst blog post I’ve ever written asides from “Hello World”, but I wanted to give you an idea of what’s been going on here at PM. If you’ve taken the time to read through this, you obviously have some extra time on your hands, and should go watch drumline videos.

There are a ton of great features that come with this toolbar, and we guarantee you’ll absolutely love it. If you see that there’s something missing from the toolbar that you want added, just drop me an email (mike@percussionmedia.com) and we’ll do our best to get it added (as long as it’s percussion related, of course)
There are so many great things to do with this toolbar that I really don’t even have the time to list them here right now, so I’ll just post this for now and go a little more in-depth later.

June 20th, 2007We’ve been very busy as of late, so news has been kind of slow…However, we’re looking forward to bringing you some really cool things in these next few weeks, so stay tuned!
One thing that we’re pretty sure of for right now is that we will be doing some filming at Pasadena this year for the Grad Championships (we’ll be going at the very least, we may leave the camera at home and just enjoy the music- If any of you are planning on going, let me know, I’d love to have a chance to meet some of you! Private Videos
February 12th, 2007PercussionMedia now allows private videos to be uploaded! Do you have a video of you playing that you want to send to friends and family, or an audition video that you need to submit to that corps or band you’re trying out for? Just send it to us and we’ll be happy to host it, free and easy.
How do you do this? Very easily: Just upload a video as you normally would, and put *private* in the description, and we won’t index it, we’ll just host it. Or leave it public for us to share it with the world, and get some constructive feedback and criticism through the video comments.
